fuck this expo. Toronto has a real expo coming soon, boycott this horse shit

  • Bob

You guys better work on getting store like livestock and Fasinfrank to truly make it a toronto expo not like the last one

  • Jo

Hey TLK, here come the haters.  I’d like to see who’s in this guys ‘real’ expo!  hahaha……what a joker.

    • Onesole

Why not trying showing some love to people giving up their time, effort and passion to bring something positive to this city for a change.  Put all of that hateful energy into something that will benefit others instead of all the destructive jealousy…….do yourself the favour and read what TLK is all about…….inform yourself.

      • Tlkpussies

Shut your greedy money hungry mouth. you guys single handily ruining the sneaker community in toronto. But there are real expos on the way to toronto, and im so happy to hear from my boys that you guys had a terrible showing this year. one year at a time and yal will go away. i promise. I wouldnt even go to this shit if it was free

      • Fuxku

Lmfaooo. I can’t wait to see a real expo. These niggas corny. And this years show was a flop. Waste of time

        • Truepandemic

When you say real expo, do you mean something with sneakers, fashion, and art?(sound familiar) you guys are all comical..How old are you really? haha dissing a organization working with kids.. please stop playing yourself and go back to your facebook or twitter.. where you can really be the man.. btw i hope you dont mean livestock or any other wack ass sneaker store in Toronto is going to do a REAL expo.. clowns, go collect rocks or something..

In my opinion the expo was cool, but all of this emotional feedback is extra. What are you asking a sneaker event to be about??? I tell you what if their is more than one expo in Toronto i would be happy… give you someone else to hate or dick ride….

          • Tlkpussies

LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!! they work with kids???? KIDS CANT AFFORD JORDANS, FASHION IN SCHOOLS RUIN KIDS, EVERYONE LOOKS AT WHAT YOU WEAR AND NOTHING ELSE. is that what we are teaching kids? these fags dont even know sneakers, celine deion and lee whoever the fuck these faggits are. next sneaker expo will be even worst, they all go down in quality. i love seeing pictures from the event because ill never attend another. i love seeing how shit they are.

and livestock has the best nike account in toronto. you can call it wack, but compared to these guys. they are kings in the city. these guys are funny people, work with kids. dont kid yourself

          • Dylanjpp

I wish you could see the bigger picture, they’re not a retail store, and have never claimed to be one.  They are trying to provide a venue and outlet for local vendors, artists and sneakerheads a like….um just like you.  So gwan and hate on yourself and everyone else like you if you please, just proves that you can’t truly grasp an innovative concept and would rather bash then steal it instead.  Like they say, biggest form of flattery is imitation, and good luck with that.

@ TLKpussies: What’s with all the hating??  As a teacher and TLK supporter, it’s disturbing to read such a negative and uninformed post.  I have had the pleasure of working with both Dion and Lee in a number of their mentoring sessions, and from the likes of what you have written, I think you would highly benefit from their work with youth…I believe they have slots on weekly basis if not daily-just for you. The fact that you hate on an event which is only a small part of their organization’s mission, show me that your words are unsubstantiated and irrelevant.  I know Dion and Lee would welcome the opportunity to hear your opinion on how the event could have been more of a success than it was, but judging from your writing and comment, it would be a complete waste of time as they are clearly on different level than yourself. By the way, I’m sure TLK can also help you in mastering the English language.

  • really?

To all of the comments that are full of hate and negative, let me ask you something- what are you doing?  By all means if you think you can do something better or you think these expo’s are whack/lame/shit WHATEVER MAY BE, why don’t you network? Why don’t you connect together and help OUR CITY grow.  HELP this movement grow- if you got better ideas why don’t you share them why don’t we work together?  You want to know why everything in Canada sucks and we constantly are mimicking the U.S? IT’S BECAUSE WE HATE TOO MUCH HEAR, someone follows out a dream or a passion and y’all come out with how you can do better, how it’s shit etc.  What happened to constructive criticism? What happened to just looking at someone or something and just giving the respect that they are chasing their dream. But you know what while you sit behind a computer screen typing out your negative vibes, these people involved in Toronto Loves Kicks are outside, connect, discussing and making their dream come true and INSPIRING others to do so as well.  So do us all a favor, until you do come up with a better concept- keep your $0.02 in your lint filled pockets.
For the rest who support TLK, MYSELF included only time can tell what and where all this will go but I can assure you it will just go up!  Like Katt Williams said “You mad? STAY THE F%$K mad!”

    • Tlkpussies

BELEIVE ME, my 2cents staying in my pocket everytime u guys run an expo, along with my other 9.98

trust me, ive seen enough people hate, ppl who message me about not going, but me and a long with everyone else will make sure this expo only declines in popularity.

u guys scam the kids, everything you say is a joke. you use sneakers to get kids attention, then tell them to stay in school? when the only way they can afford the shoes is to get a job and do worst in school. cmon son, #CMONSON

      • LB

It is apparent from your writing (grammar and spelling in
particular) that you did not stay in school for very long…hmmm, I wonder what
you are rocking on your feet?

But I digress, as a Toronto
educator who has worked alongside the Toronto Loves Kicks enterprise I can
speak first-hand to what TLK has done for the city’s youth, and specifically,
        my own students.

Jails are being built and they’re being filled with nothing
but more and more black people; that is, black youth under the age of 21 are
dying at a rapid rate from shooting each other.
Our youth are killing each other on the street for street dominance,
which only lands them in our many prisons.
When my students were asked, “what was missing in your life before your
incarceration?” the response is often that love was missing!  They realize that had someone loved and cared
enough about them to take them off the streets and put them in programs and
served as their mentor they may have taken a different path.

Although ‘kicks’ are at the heart of TLK, one needs to see
beyond the tangible possession.  What do
the ‘kicks’ symbolize?  I believe that
what TLK is doing is attempting to forge a bridge between sneakers and education.  I believe that TLK is teaching our youth
concepts that will empower them and in the midst, offering programs and events
that not only literally take our youth off the streets but more importantly,
arm them with the skills, knowledge and empathy needed to rise above their
pasts and succeed in their futures.

Here is note to you personally, “When people hate who they
are, they fail to unite, further these self-haters very often make detrimental
statements about themselves, their own physical features and their own
        people.  Another hallmark of self-haters
is that they display these behaviours in front of their own and other
people.  They are most adept at ‘attacking’
members of their own group; and they create and/or perpetuate language that
        speaks to self-hatred” (Heaggans, 2009)

It appears that something is missing from your sole!

      • That’s wonderful, what’s more wonderful is how much effort and energy you put into hating TLK so much.  My suggestion to you is to shut up- and start making moves with your business and stop watching TLK so hard.  It’s nice how you’re jumping on the bandwagon of haters, I don’t understand why you hate so much-hating requieres a lot of energy, time and effort. You could of came at it in a different approach-GIVING you’re two cents and suggesting what we can do better or even working together.  Why do you got to put such a wedge, why do we have to hate, why do we have to compete ? If you can do better, why can’t you work with each other?  And hell if your way works better the recognition would go to you, but as far as I am concerned you’re sitting behind a screen talking mad shit make movements dude.  There is no scamming in kids, we get kids attention by sneakers BUT that is the starting point.  How are you going to sit here and say the only way they can afford these shoes is to get a job and do worst in school?  Kids now a days not only go to school but work part-time as well-that does not mean they will do worst in school.  I am a student and I WORK and it does not cause me to do worse in school.  If a kid sits at home and does nothing but watch TV- that can affect his school, if a kid goes to school and does not pay attention, does not put in work, does not ask questions THAT WILL MAKE HIM/HER do worse in school.  I wish you had the courage to come out and say who you are and put a face on this person whom has such a angry heart that the only way you feel better is to sit here and type out your frusterations cause you sitting at home while these dudes are making their dreams come true.  NOTHING and you can research this, but NOTHING starts off big when it’s just a beginning, the same people that some of the most successful people not to pursue their dreams or ideas are the ones laughing to the bank.  Success takes time, and we are well on our way, and people like YOU think this will hurt or damage TLK but people with a mind, a heart, and a sense of COMMUNITY can see the bigger picture TLK is trying to paint.  Do myself, the people of TLK, and the people who support TLK a favor- stop speaking, and only start speaking when you got your shit up and running, take care.

        • …..

And by the way if you are so upset with the fact that you had to pay $10.00 I will reimburse it to you since you seem so upset that you wasted value money and your time.  But next stop stop being a mole and coming into an event that you hate just to literally stand like a fly on a wall and examine, analyze, and critque all in negative lenses.  For someone who hates TLK so much you spend a lot of time in regards to it.  What you’re doing is seeing the ups and downs of someone’s elses dreams in the work and taking them and making a knockoff version of what you believe you want to do.  DO YOU, do you, and do you, make your own movement, start your own expo, have your own venue, AND I will make sure to attend and shake your hand whether or not it’s a good OR bad turn out- why? BECAUSE I would respect you enough that you’re doing something you want and making your dreams come true.  Sometimes it aint about the money, it aint about the popularity, its about being people interacting with each other.  SO WHAT maybe the expo’s aren’t as successful as other ones you have been to or ones in the states, but what are you basing success on?  The amount of people that come or the amount of money?  IT’S not about the money, its about the sense of community, a positive event where people can come in look around and see the different vendors. When you look at the vendors you can see young and old TALENT chasing their dream, pursuing something they love, putting in so much work and effort to show OUR CITY, OUR COMMUNITY, what they have to offer.  IT’S ABOUT POSITIVITY- people were vibing, enjoying the music, walking, talking- like why don’t you see the essence of what it is to be a person? THE ESSENCE OF WHAT COMMUNITY IS?  But not you’re just basing it on popularity and taking it all from face value, but it’s deeper then that and the shame and tragedy is that not everyone can see that, but the ones that do -IT IS APPRECIATED IT.  I feel like I wasted my time as much as you have with even giving a person like you the time of day.  But I will just pray for you, and I hope whatever you’re cooking up in your kitchen is successful, no hate what so ever- because I SUPPORT ANYONE WHO CHASES THEIR DREAM AND MAKES IT REALITY.  So best of luck to you my dude.
