Is Blake Griffin gettin’ his act on or should I say re-enacting the classic Air Jordan commercial that featured Spike Lee and Michael Jordan. Well, we already know how he gets down on the basketball court, which was heavily on display at the NBA All Star 2011 weekend where he took part in the rookie game, dunk competition and All Star game last month. Its clear Blake loves to put on a show, but acting I guess you have to be the judge of that.
We know that this acting bug came in direct relation with Blake’s friend Jordan Cameron; a star tight end for the USC Trojans and 2011 NFL Drafts top prospect. While neither Nike or the Jordan Brand had anything at all to do with this project, it does hold a lot of question’s with what will now happen in direct response to this creative video with the two power house brands. Will this have an effect on where Jordan Cameron gets drafted in the NFL draft?
Will Blake Griffin (or ‘Blake’ man) now get his own personal signature shoe from Nike or Jumpman, only time will tell. It would be interesting to see what will come of this mini commercial. Was this more along the lines of a dope parity to MJ & Spike Lee’s Mars Blackmon Nike commercial character then a marketing plan or what is it really??!! Athletes know and understand their star power in today’s internet social driven market, so saying this stemmed from just helping a friend get drafted as the number 1 seed is highly debatable.
Check out this video below as Blake has his boy Jordan Cameron jump over a cardboard box car.
